Can you here me? Dulce Lamarca

23 May 2022 - 23 May 2022

Join artist Dulce Lamarca for an endurance online performance taking place on Rāhina 23 Mei / Monday 23 May, 8am–2pm via Zoom.

Can you here me? is the second in a series of online performances where the artist is present at a distance, in her studio in New York for a prolonged period of time. The first iteration of Can you here me? took place in November, 2019–before the COVID pandemic– at Proyecto Casa Intervenida in Buenos Aires, Argentina: the artist’s hometown.

Dulce Lamarca has been experimenting with films, performances and mediated spaces to explore how to engage an audience intimately both off and on a screen. (...) Investigations of time and space as conceptual and sculptural material play out in the performative videos of Dulce Lamarca. Her distance performances to gallery audiences via remote screen-sharing gains even more relevance to our zoom-laden world of today. ¹
