The work of over 215 artists, painting alongside each other for eight months; Life, the Universe and the 420 Centre, brought together people recovering from mental illness and artists, both professional and amateur, from Dunedin and elsewhere. The project was run at the 420 Centre in Dunedin and supported by Pact. Pact support people living with disabilities and mental health issues in the community.

In the Upper and Darkside Galleries: New Zealand landscape photography reconfigured, laced with irony, panoramas of rubble, piles of granite stones, sluice canyons created from the residue of past mining activities.

In the Lower Gallery: "Hector Hazard the flaneur, the hitchhiker is known to many, but he is a man of many more parts. Like Flann O'Brian's Third Policeman his molecules have been modified by his obsessions."

In the Upper Gallery, Alex Monteith's A/V Scenario imitates the spoke-backwards effect generated during car chase scenes in motion pictures.

Sharna Osborne presents Renown (Salad Days), two video works in the Darkside Gallery.
