Travel Stories VI Ina Johann

14 April 2001 - 3 April 2001

Using a number of found objects and collected specimens, including a child's gumboot, a tiny stuffed toy and a rusted railway spike, as well as techniques of photomontage this exhibition by Ina Johann responds to the Oblique site specific art project which took place in the small South Island community of Otira. The show also makes references to her hometown in Germany, contrasting her urban life with her time spent in rural Otira and in doing so, exploring the often dislocating and fragmented experience of travel.
