Specific Objects Yona Lee
The Blue Oyster is pleased to present 'Specific Objects', a solo project by Auckland based artist Yona Lee. For this exhibition Lee has developed a new series of free standing sculptural works. These works mark a departure from her previous sprawling and site-specific installations. Poised, but dynamic, her sculptural forms draw from the formal concerns of 1960’s minimalism, whilst appropriating present day languages of commercial display. Working with chrome-plated steel, Lee coaxes this industrial material into a symphony of lines, considered weights and balances.
